It wasn’t my plan that the last issue of “Out on a LIMS®: The Newsletter For People Who Risk Life and LIMS on a Daily Basis” would be issued within a few days of the GeoMetrick Enterprises twentieth anniversary nor that it would be within a few days of adding a significant new customer. I probably couldn’t have timed it all better.
In my efforts to convert my newsletter readers to be blog readers, I’m still working on expectations management, as the two are different.
This blog has been active since August 2009 and I have been publishing the corresponding newsletter since June of 2001. On top of that, I write a variety of other things, including the occasional magazine article. However, I’m not actually in the writing business, I’m in the LIMS / ELN implementation business. Thus, for several years, I’ve thought about consolidating the amount of writing that I do.
Occasionally, someone will ask me why I write both a blog AND a newsletter. While both are meant to both inform and to drive business to my company, their general focus is different, as are the ways they inform.
As some of you know, I both write this blog AND have a free monthly newsletter. Sometimes, I do think having both is more work than I want, but it is not an easy choice to get rid of one.
This “Out on a LIMS” blog now has a new domain. You can access it directly from: http://outonalims.com/ The old domain will still work. It will merely redirect to this new domain. Gloria Metrick GeoMetrick Enterprises http://www.GeoMetrick.com/
The other day, someone noticed that this blog, “Out on a LIMS,” does not come out daily. He said he’d like to see it daily and asked me why I don’t do that. In case you were wondering, too, here’s why.
Let me introduce myself and my company. (Follow the link to read this article.)
