In my last post, I mentioned that I was moving the company web-site. Most of you haven’t yet seen the web-site but it’s not just moved but is being rebuilt. As such, it looks kind of awful.
Some of you will then tell me how truly awful the web-site looks and will wonder how I could possibly stand to show the world such a terrible thing.
At some point, we all make choices. For a long time, I let my web-site be stagnant because buying a new web-site is time-consuming. It’s time-consuming in a multiple sense because you have to spend the time to map out the changes, you have to get your ideas across to the company who will build your site, and you then have to monitor and approve the build. Having done it twice for my business, already, I just kept putting it off because I just didn’t want to allocate the time for it.
As such, I finally decided that my web-site truly needed an update and that I wouldn’t just move it but would start the changes. I would make them, little by little. Then, when I have everything I want in there, will then hire a “real” web developer to make it look nice.
So, yes, I picked content over form, for the moment. I did agonize about it but, at some point, you just have to make a decision and move forward.
Meanwhile, my apologies for the slowness of the rebuild AND for allowing such a hideous thing to exist. 😉
