One or twice a year, I tend to comment on our laboratory informatics market, regarding how busy and active it seems.
With Fall being one of the more active times as people come back from their summer vacation and get their projects restarted, this is one of those times that many of us depend on for leads that we hope will turn into projects.
This year, things seem slow to restart after Summer vacations were over. September seemed unusually quiet but, just in the last week, the market seems to be picking back up, again. Of course, as we all know, leads might be a bellwether to potential projects but it does not paint the entire picture. We’ve had years with almost no leads but that projects seemed to come out about as normal and other years where there were a LOT of leads that never turned into anything.
Time will tell. At this point, all I can say is that we seem to be starting to activate projects that were slowed-down or just not begun until now, but we’ll all have to wait and see what kind of Autumn we’ll really have, in the end. Best wishes to all with projects they need to find resources for and those all those of us working to fill our schedules.
