This month, GeoMetrick Enterprises turns 23 years old. This month also marks 23 years of working with the LabWare LIMS.
Labware and GeoMetrick Enterprises – Long, Long Ago
With so many people congratulating me on my work anniversary, I was thinking back to my very first customers, one of them being LabWare.
Some people are surprised to learn they were one of my first customers but, in the beginning, they had few consultants to rely on and occasionally just had so much more work than they could fulfill that they would ask me to work on their overflow.
However, there are also people out there who think LabWare is still a customer of mine and, truly, that was an extremely short amount of time that we did any business together and a LONG time ago, now. Occasionally, other software vendors are reluctant to do business with me, thinking I’ve got some kind of tie to LabWare, but I don’t (beyond knowing a lot of the people from working with them on various projects, that is).
Also, something that customers tell me confuses them is that they have this belief that all LabWare work goes through LabWare. It doesn’t. I’m not the only company that gets direct (i.e., not subcontracted by LabWare) LabWare LIMS and ELN work.
Types of Projects
Since I’m here reminiscing, I decided to spend this week writing about the variety of projects GeoMetrick Enterprises has fulfilled for customers. Not all of them involve the LabWare system, either. I hope that won’t come to a surprise to many of you, although it’s certainly been to the advantage of my business to be a LabWare system expert over these 23 years as there are so many great projects that need my services.
